John Spencer was an English professional snooker player who won the World Professional title at his first attempt, was the first winner at the Crucible Theatre, was the inaugural winner of the Masters and Irish Masters and was the first player to make a 147 break in competition. This is regarded as an unofficial maximum break as the event used non templated tables. Spencer was born in Radcliffe, Greater Manchester.

Peter John Law was a Welsh politician. Formerly a member of the Labour Party, he stood as an independent candidate in the 2005 general election, defeating the Labour candidate by over 9,000 votes. The Daily Telegraph described his victory as "one of the most spectacular general election results of modern times".

Olivier Séchan was a French writer. He was born in Montpellier and died in Paris at the age of 95. He was the son of Louis Séchan and brother of Edmond Séchan.

Igor Emilievich Kio was a Russian illusionist with the Russian State Circus (Росгосцирк). Born Igor Emilievich Hirschfeld-Renard, He was the son of the legendary magician Emil Kio (1894-1965). He began to work with his father at age 5, eventually replacing him in the act in 1960. Upon the death of his father in 1965, he inherited the act, which he continued to present in the Soviet Union and all over the world well into the 21st century.

Christian de la Mazière was a journalist and member of the Charlemagne Division of the Waffen-SS. He is known for discussing his role in the documentary The Sorrow and the Pity and also wrote a book titled The Captive Dreamer. At the start of the war, he served in the French Army and remained in the military of Vichy France until 1942. After being discharged, he worked for the fascist newspaper Le Pays Libre, joining the Charlemagne Division just before the Liberation of Paris in 1944. He was taken prisoner in Pomerania by Polish forces in the Red Army.
