Henry van Straubenzee
Lt-Colonel Henry van Straubenzee DSO OBE was a British army officer who was awarded the Distinguished Service Order for leadership whilst commanding 12 Royal Tank Regiment, in Northern Italy, in 1944, during the Second World War. He later commanded the 2nd Battalion, The Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry. He was also an English cricketer, playing for Sandhurst and the Army up to the outbreak of war. He played for Essex between 1938 and 1939.

Yuri losifovich Bogatikov was a Soviet and Ukrainian singer (baritone). In 1985 he was honoured with the title of People's Artist of the USSR. His repertoire consisted of over 400 songs. He was the original performer of such songs as "I Haven't Been in Donbass for a Long Time", "Let's Talk", "Don't Let Your Heart Cool Down, My Son", "Remembering the Regimental Band".
James Gregory
James Gregory was an American character actor known for his deep, gravelly voice and playing brash roles such as the McCarthy-like Sen. John Iselin in The Manchurian Candidate (1962), the audacious General Ursus in Beneath the Planet of the Apes (1970), and crusty Inspector Frank Luger in the television sitcom Barney Miller (1975–1982).
Desmond Norman
Nigel Desmond Norman, was an aircraft designer and aviation pioneer. Norman co-founded Britten-Norman in 1954, was appointed a Commander of the Order of the British Empire in 1970, and served as chairman and managing director of AeroNorTec (1988–2002). With his longtime friend and business partner John Britten, he also designed, built and sailed racing yachts, as well as a series of air cushion vehicles and crop spraying equipment. He died of a heart attack at age 73 in 2002.
