List of Famous people who died in 1995

Attila Szekrényessy was a Hungarian pair skater who competed with his sister Piroska Szekrényessy. He was born in Budapest, Hungary and died in Gyöngyös. He and his sister were six-time gold medalists at the Hungarian Figure Skating Championships. The pair finished fourth at the 1936 Winter Olympics and won the bronze medal at the European Figure Skating Championships in 1936 and 1937.

Neil Terence Columba Blaney was an Irish politician. He was first elected to Dáil Éireann in 1948 as a Fianna Fáil Teachta Dála (TD) representing Donegal East. Blaney served as Minister for Posts and Telegraphs (1957), Minister for Local Government (1957–1966) and Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries (1966–1970). He was Father of the Dáil from 1987 until his death.

Ronald Anthony White, usually referred to as Ronnie White, was an American singer, best known as the co-founder of The Miracles and its only consistent original member. White was also known for bringing Stevie Wonder to the attention of Motown Records, and writing several hit singles for the Miracles as well as other artists including The Temptations, Marvin Gaye, and Mary Wells. White died of leukemia in 1995, at 56 years old. In 2012, White was a posthumous inductee into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame with The Miracles.

Elizabeth Dilys Powell, CBE was a British film critic who wrote for The Sunday Times for over 50 years. Powell was noted for her receptiveness to cultural change in the cinema and coined many classic phrases about films and actors. She was one of the founder members of the Independent Television Authority (ITA), which launched commercial television in the UK, and also served as the second female president of the Classical Association. Powell was also the author of several books on films and her travels in Greece.
