Paul Karl Feyerabend was an Austrian-born philosopher of science best known for his work as a professor of philosophy at the University of California, Berkeley, where he worked for three decades (1958–1989). At various points in his life, he lived in England, the United States, New Zealand, Italy, Germany, and finally Switzerland. His major works include Against Method (1975), Science in a Free Society (1978) and Farewell to Reason (1987). Feyerabend became famous for his purportedly anarchistic view of science and his rejection of the existence of universal methodological rules. He was an influential figure in the sociology of scientific knowledge. Asteroid (22356) Feyerabend is named in his honour.

Dieter Oesterlen was a German architect. He re-built the Leineschloss, the Marktkirche, and the opera house all in Hanover after the destruction of World War II.

Rolf Thiele was a German film director, producer and screenwriter. He directed 42 films between 1951 and 1977. He was born in Prödlitz, then in the Austro-Hungarian Empire. His 1958 film Eva was entered into the 1959 Cannes Film Festival. His 1964 film Tonio Kröger was entered into the 14th Berlin International Film Festival.

John Ernest was an American-born constructivist abstract artist. He was born in Philadelphia, in 1922. After living and working in Sweden and Paris from 1946 to 1951, he moved to London, England, where he lived and worked from 1951. As a mature student at Saint Martin's School of Art he came under the influence of Victor Pasmore and other proponents of constructivism. During the 1950s together with Anthony Hill, Kenneth Martin, Mary Martin, Stephen Gilbert and Gillian Wise he became a key member of the British constructivist art movement.

Chris A. Butler was an American set decorator. He was nominated for an Academy Award in the category Best Art Direction for the film Chaplin. He died at his home in Los Angeles, from complications of AIDS.

Manfred Salzgeber was a German actor and film producer. He was director of the "Sektion Panorama" at the Internationales Filmfestspiel Berlin. He was a co-founder of the Internationales Forum des Jungen Films and founded the film company edition manfred salzgeber.

Antonio Negrini was an Italian cyclist. He competed in two events at the 1924 Summer Olympics.
