John Ray Dunning was an American physicist who played key roles in the Manhattan Project that developed the first atomic bombs. He specialized in neutron physics, and did pioneering work in gaseous diffusion for isotope separation. He was Dean of the School of Engineering and Applied Science at Columbia University from 1950 to 1969.

Leigh Rollin Whipper was an American actor on the stage and in motion pictures. He was the first African American to join the Actors' Equity Association, and one of the founders of the Negro Actors Guild of America. He is best known for creating the role of Crooks in the original Broadway production of Of Mice and Men, which he reprised in the 1939 film version.

Araminta Estelle "Minta" Durfee was an American silent film actress from Los Angeles, California, possibly best known for her role in Mickey (1918).

Juarez do Nascimento Fernandes Távora was a Brazilian general and politician active during the Brazilian Revolution of 1930 that put an end to the oligarchic First Brazilian Republic by deposing the president Washington Luís and preventing his elected successor Júlio Prestes from taking office. The revolutionaries handed power over to Getúlio Vargas.

María Corda was a Hungarian actress and a star of the silent film era in Germany and Austria.
