Sharon Lynn was an American actress and singer. She began playing in silent films but enjoyed her biggest success in the early sound years of motion pictures before fading away in the mid 1930s. She is perhaps best known for portraying Lola Marcel, the villain in the Laurel and Hardy comedy feature, Way Out West.

James Lawton Collins was a major general of the U.S. Army who served in World War I and World War II, and was the father of Apollo 11 astronaut Maj. Gen. Michael Collins, USAF Reserve (ret.), and Brigadier General James Lawton Collins Jr. His brother, General J. Lawton Collins, served as Army Chief of Staff during the Korean War.

Willard Van der Veer was an American cinematographer who won an Academy Award at the 3rd Academy Awards for Best Cinematography for the film With Byrd at the South Pole with Joseph T. Rucker. He started his career as a documentary cameraman and later did a couple episodes of Maverick and the film The Crawling Hand. Mount Van der Veer was named after him. He is the father of Frank Van der Veer, a Hollywood visual effects artist who founded Van Der Veer Photo Effects and won, in 1977, a Special Achievement Academy Award for the 1976 version of King Kong.

William Joseph Norton was an Irish Labour Party politician who served as Tánaiste from 1948 to 1951 and from 1954 to 1957, Leader of the Labour Party from 1932 to 1960, Minister for Social Welfare from 1948 to 1951 and Minister for Industry and Commerce from 1954 to 1957. He was a Teachta Dála (TD) from 1926 to 1927 and from 1932 to 1961.

Theodor Heuss was a German liberal politician who served as the first President of the Federal Republic of Germany from 1949 to 1959. His cordial nature – something of a contrast to the stern character of chancellor Konrad Adenauer – largely contributed to the stabilization of democracy in West Germany during the Wirtschaftswunder years. Before beginning his career as a politician, Heuss had been a political journalist.

Nadejda Mikhailovna Mountbatten, Marchioness of Milford Haven, formerly Princess George of Battenberg, was a member of the Russian Imperial Family who married a German prince but became a British subject and aristocrat. She was a close relation of the British Royal Family.
