Marten Ykes (Max) Nauta was a Dutch painter and stained glass artist. His work was part of the painting event in the art competition at the 1924 Summer Olympics. Nauta's work was included in the 1939 exhibition and sale Onze Kunst van Heden at the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam.

Miguel Antonio Catalán y Sañudo (1894–1957) was a Spanish spectroscopist.

Marianne Löfgren was a Swedish actress. She played in Åke Ohberg's Elvira Madigan (1943), director Ingmar Bergman's debut Crisis in 1946, Hasse Ekman's Girl with Hyacinths (1950) and in over a hundred other films in her native Sweden.

Hasui Kawase was an artist, one of modern Japan's most important and prolific printmakers. He was a prominent designer of the shin-hanga movement, whose artists depicted traditional subjects with a style influenced by Western art. Like many earlier ukiyo-e prints, Hasui's works were commonly landscapes, but displayed atmospheric effects and natural lighting.

Edward Russell Hicks was an American film actor. Hicks was born in 1895 in Baltimore, Maryland. During World War I, he served in the U.S. Army in France. He later became a lieutenant Colonel in the California State Guard.

Saishū Onoe (1876–1957) was a Japanese tanka poet and calligrapher.

Kenneth Lewis Roberts was an American writer of historical novels. He worked first as a journalist, becoming nationally known for his work with the Saturday Evening Post from 1919 to 1928, and then as a popular novelist. Born in Kennebunk, Maine, Roberts specialized in regionalist historical fiction, often writing about his native state and its terrain and also about other upper New England states and scenes. For example, the main characters in Arundel and Rabble in Arms are from Kennebunkport, the main character in Northwest Passage is from Kittery, Maine and has friends in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, and the main character in Oliver Wiswell is from Milton, Massachusetts.
