Marie-Annick Bellon, usually known as Yannick Bellon,, was a French film director, editor and screenwriter. Initially known for her documentary work, in 1972 she made her first feature film, Quelque part quelqu’un, presenting contemporary views of Paris. She went on to make several more feature films, including L'amour violé with its feminist insights in 1978 and Les Enfants du désordre in 1989, evoking the difficulties a drug addict experiences when trying to return to normal life.

Osamu Hayaishi MJA , was a Japanese biochemist, physiologist, and military physician. He discovered Oxygenases at the National Institute of Arthritis and Metabolic Diseases, National Institutes of Health in 1955.

As Richard Gordon, Ostlere wrote numerous novels, screenplays for film and television and accounts of popular history, mostly dealing with the practice of medicine. He was best known for a long series of comic novels on a medical theme beginning with Doctor in the House, and the subsequent film, television, radio and stage adaptations. His The Alarming History of Medicine was published in 1993, and he followed this with The Alarming History of Sex.

Tuvya Ruebner was an Israeli poet who wrote in Hebrew and German, and he also translated poems - from Hebrew into German and from German into Hebrew. In addition, he was the editor of numerous literary books, a scholar, a teacher, and a photographer. Ruebner was Emeritus Professor of German and Comparative Literature at Haifa University and Oranim College. The recipient of many literary awards in Israel, Germany and Austria, he was awarded the Israel Prize for Poetry in 2008 - the highest accolade the State of Israel bestows. The jury awarding that prize described Ruebner as "among the most important Hebrew poets", and his poetry as "restrained, polished and intellectual ... nourished by the ancient strata of Hebrew poetry and the best of the tradition of Central European poetry."
