Lyuba Welitsch was an operatic soprano. She was born in Borisovo, Bulgaria, studied in Sofia and Vienna, and sang in opera houses in Austria and Germany in the late 1930s and early and mid-1940s. In 1946 she became an Austrian citizen.

Francesco Giuseppe "Frank" Puglia was an Italian-American film actor. He had small, but memorable roles in films including Casablanca, Now, Voyager and The Jungle Book.

Ralph Cook Craig was an American athlete, winner of the sprint double at the 1912 Summer Olympics.

Glenda Spooner (1897–1981), née Graham, was a journalist and author writing about horses. She was the founder, Chairman and Organising Secretary of the Ponies of Britain Club. She is well known as a pony breeder and for her involvement with pony and horse welfare. She established the Glenda Spooner Horse rescue farm, which was later taken over by the International League for the Protection of Horses (ILPH) renamed in 2008 as World Horse Welfare (WHW).

The Kate Sharpley Library is a library dedicated to anarchist texts and history. Started in 1979 and reorganized in 1991, it currently holds around ten thousand English language volumes, pamphlets and periodicals.
