Joseph Hurley was an American art director. He was nominated for an Academy Award in the category Best Art Direction for the film Psycho.

Kenneth Chamberlain Sr. was fatally shot on November 19, 2011, in White Plains, New York. After his LifeAid medical alert necklace was inadvertently triggered, police came to his home and demanded that he open his front door. Despite his objections and statements that he did not need help, the police broke down Chamberlain's door. According to police, Chamberlain charged at them with a knife and he was tasered, and then fatally shot. Chamberlain was a 68-year-old, black, retired Marine, and a 20-year veteran of the Westchester County Department of Corrections. He wore the medical alert pendant due to a chronic heart problem.

Hwawei Ko was a Taiwanese pedagogue and professor who specialised in the promotion of reading education in Taiwan. She was the first director of the Learning and Teaching Institute of the Faculty of Letters at the National Central University and was professor of both the Department of Psychology of the National Chengchi University and at the National Chung Cheng University's Department of Psychology. Hwawei was a visiting scholar of the Harvard Institute for Educational Management and the Learning Research and Development Center at the University of Pittsburgh.

David Alexander was an American television director. He directed episodes of the CBS series The Best of Broadway and several popular 1960s television shows, including: My Favorite Martian, Petticoat Junction, Get Smart, The Munsters, F Troop and The Brady Bunch. He also directed two episodes, Plato's Stepchildren and The Way to Eden, of Star Trek: The Original Series.
