List of Famous Boxers

Michael Bentt is a British-American film and television actor, and retired professional boxer who competed from 1989 to 1994. Of Jamaican heritage, he was born in East Dulwich, London, but raised in the Cambria Heights section of Queens in New York City. Bentt won the WBO heavyweight title from Tommy Morrison in 1993, losing the title in his first defense in 1994 to Herbie Hide. As an amateur he won bronze medals at the 1986 World Championships and 1987 Pan American Games.

Finbar Patrick 'Barry' McGuigan MBE is an Irish retired professional boxer and current boxing promoter. Born in Clones, County Monaghan, Ireland, McGuigan was nicknamed The Clones Cyclone and became the WBA and lineal featherweight world champion. He was very popular with Irish and British audiences, representing neutrality and peace in a time when Ireland, where he lived, was affected by The Troubles. In 2005 he was inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame. He is also known for coaching one of the most decorated boxers from Northern Ireland, Carl Frampton, along with his son Shane McGuigan.

Samuel Okon Peter is a Nigerian professional boxer. He held the WBC heavyweight title in 2008, when he stopped Oleg Maskaev in six rounds. In his prime, he was known for his rivalry with the Klitschko brothers, having faced Wladimir twice and Vitali once. BoxRec currently ranks him as the 27th greatest fighter to have only faced heavyweights during his professional career. He was ranked by BoxRec as the world's top 10 heavyweight from 2004 to 2007, reaching his highest ranking of No.4 in 2006. Peter is known for his punching power and holds a 78.9% knockout-to-win ratio.

John Molina Jr. is an American former professional boxer who competed from 2006 to 2019. He challenged twice for world titles; the WBC lightweight title in 2012 and the unified WBC and WBO light welterweight titles in 2016.

Carl Martin Froch, is an English former professional boxer who competed from 2002 to 2014, and has since worked as a boxing analyst and commentator for Sky Sports. He held multiple super-middleweight world championships, including the WBC title twice between 2008 and 2011, the IBF title from 2012 to 2015, and the WBA (Unified) title from 2013 to 2015. At regional level he held the British, Commonwealth, and English super-middleweight titles, and won the Lonsdale Belt in 2006. As an amateur in the middleweight division, Froch won a bronze medal at the 2001 World Championships, and the ABA title twice.

Tomomi Takano is a Japanese model and professional boxer who challenged once for the WBO junior bantamweight title in 2015.

Nicholas Walters is a Jamaican-Panamanian professional boxer. He held the WBA featherweight title from 2012 to 2015, and has challenged once for the WBO junior lightweight title in 2016.

Travis Kauffman is an American heavyweight professional boxer. A professional competitor since 2006, his notable opponents include Luis Ortiz, Amir Mansour, and Chris Arreola.
