Harald Popp is a German electrical engineer. Together with Karlheinz Brandenburg, Ernst Eberlein, Heinz Gerhäuser, Bernhard Grill, Jürgen Herre, he developed the widespread MP3 method for audio data compression.

Angus Boyd "Gus" Dudgeon was an English record producer, who oversaw many of Elton John's most acclaimed recordings, including his commercial breakthrough, Your Song. Their collaboration led to seven US No. 1 albums, and established John as the most successful singles artist of the '70s. Dudgeon also produced Chris Rea's first hit, the US chart topping Fool , and David Bowie's Space Oddity, and steered many other artists to chart success, including Joan Armatrading and Elkie Brooks. The Guinness Book of Records cites Dudgeon as being the first person to use sampling in music production. He was a founding member of the Music Producers Guild.

Mehdi Rajabian is an Iranian composer, musician and the founder of the website Barg Music. He was imprisoned for pursuing illegal musical activities in 2015. In 2019, he released the album Middle Eastern in collaboration with a number of other Middle Eastern artists.

Bagindo Azizchan, is the second Mayor of Padang after independence, which was inaugurated on August 15, 1946 replacing Mr. Abubakar Jaar. He died at the age of 36 years after being involved in a battle against the Netherlands. His body was interred at the Heroes Cemetery "Bahagia", Bukittinggi. On November 9, 2005 Azizchan was declared a National Hero of Indonesia.
