Man Arai was a Japanese writer and singer. In 1987, he won the Noma Literary New Face Prize for Vexation and Akutagawa Prize in 1988 for Tazunebito no Jikan.

Jaroslav Kurzweil is a Czech mathematician. He is a specialist in ordinary differential equations and defined the Henstock–Kurzweil integral in terms of Riemann sums, first published in 1957 in the Czechoslovak Mathematical Journal. Kurzweil has been awarded the highest possible scientific prize of the Czech Republic, the "Czech Brain" of the year 2006, as an acknowledgement of his life achievements.

Gérard Laumon is a French mathematician, best known for his results in number theory, for which he was awarded the Clay Research Award.

Isaak Yakovlevich Pomeranchuk was a Soviet theoretical physicist working in particle physics, quantum field theory, electromagnetic and synchrotron radiation, condensed matter physics and the physics of liquid helium. The Pomeranchuk instability, the pomeron, and a few other phenomena in particle and condensed matter physics are named after him.

Richard O'Sullivan is an English comedy actor, who is known for his role as Robin Tripp in the 1970s sitcoms Man About the House (1973–1976) and Robin's Nest (1977–1981) and as the title character in the period family adventure series Dick Turpin (1979–1982). O'Sullivan also starred in Doctor at Large, Doctor in Charge, Trouble in Mind, Alcock and Gander and Me and My Girl.

Ralph Edward Gomory is an American applied mathematician and executive. Gomory worked at IBM as a researcher and later as an executive. During that time, his research led to the creation of new areas of applied mathematics.
