Jan Paul van Aken is a German activist for Greenpeace and a politician with the Left Party. He is a member of the Foreign Affairs Committee and the Subcommittee on Disarmament, Arms Control and Non-Proliferation in the German Bundestag. Jan van Aken entered the 17th Bundestag in 2009 after he was listed on the Left electoral lists in Hamburg. Since June 2012 he has been a deputy chairperson of the Left Party. He was one of the eight lead candidates for the Left in the 2013 federal election and was therefore also elected to the 18th Bundestag.

Michael Kent Young is an American college basketball coach and currently the head men's basketball coach at Virginia Tech. He was hired on April 7, 2019 after a 17-year stint where he went 299–244 (.545) as the head coach at Wofford College.

Victor Stafford Reid, OJ, was a Jamaican writer born in Kingston, Jamaica, who wrote with an intent of influencing the younger generations. He was awarded the silver (1950) and gold (1976) Musgrave Medals, the Order of Jamaica (1980) and the Norman Manley Award for Excellence in Literature in 1981. He was the author of several novels, three of which were aimed towards children; one play production; and several short stories. Two of his most notable works are New Day - "the first West Indian novel to be written throughout in a dialect form" - and The Leopard.

Jenny Caroline "Jennychen" Marx Longuet was the eldest daughter of Jenny von Westphalen Marx and Karl Marx. Briefly a political journalist writing under the pen name "J. Williams", Longuet taught language classes and had a family of five sons and a daughter before her own death due to cancer at the age of 38.
