Pål Bjarne Tyldum is a retired cross-country skier from Norway. Specializing in the longer distances, he won a gold medal in the 50 km event at the 1972 Winter Olympics in Sapporo. At the 1968 Winter Olympics in Grenoble, he won a gold medal in the 4 × 10 km relay. Additionally, he won three Olympic silver medals and seven national cross-country championships. His best result at the world championships was fourth place in the 30 km and 4 × 10 km relay in 1970.

Pavel Cebanu is a former Moldovan football (soccer) player. He spent his entire career, from 1973 to 1985, at the Moldovan side FC Nistru Chişinău. He was captain for many years and played 341 games scoring 45 goals.

Leslie Gabriel Valiant is a British American computer scientist and computational theorist. He is currently the T. Jefferson Coolidge Professor of Computer Science and Applied Mathematics at Harvard University. Valiant was awarded the A.M. Turing Award in 2010, having been described by the A.C.M. as a heroic figure in theoretical computer science and a role model for his courage and creativity in addressing some of the deepest unsolved problems in science; in particular for his "striking combination of depth and breadth".

Chiara Cainero is an Italian sport shooter who won a gold medal in Skeet at the 2008 Summer Olympics.

Hans Walter Peter Nisblé was a German politician. A member of the Social Democratic Party of Germany, he served in the Abgeordnetenhaus of Berlin in 1985 and was subsequently mayor of Bezirk Wedding from 1994 to 2001. He died on 11 January 2022, at the age of 76.

Shelly Rachel Yachimovich is an Israeli politician, who served as the leader of the opposition three times, a member of the Knesset, and a member of the Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee. She served as leader of the Israeli Labor Party between 2011 and 2013. Before entering politics, she was a journalist, an author, and a television and radio commentator.
