Joseph-Marie Trịnh Văn Căn was a Vietnamese cardinal of the Catholic Church. He was the Archbishop of Hanoi from 1978 until his death. He became a cardinal in 1979, ordained by Pope John Paul II.

Baron Franz von Paula Gruithuisen was a Bavarian physician and astronomer. He taught medical students before becoming a professor of astronomy at the University of Munich in 1826.

Hiroko Nagamine is a former Japanese badminton player. She was part of the Sanko Co, Ltd team. Nagamine graduated from the Kumamotoshinaijogakuin Chugakukoto School, and in 2000, she competed at the Summer Olympics in Sydney, Australia in the women's doubles event partnered with Satomi Igawa. Together with Igawa, they won international tournament in Cuba, Netherlands, Peru, and Chile.

Eugen Cornelius Joseph von Lommel was a German physicist. He is notable for the Lommel polynomial, the Lommel function, the Lommel–Weber function, and the Lommel differential equation. He is also notable as the doctoral advisor of the Nobel Prize winner Johannes Stark.
