Innocent Masina Nkhonyo is a Malawian writer and poet, writing mostly in the Chichewa language. He was born in Dedza, and educated at Likuni Primary School and Mlale Seminary in Lilongwe. From 2008-12 he studied Education Humanities at the University of Malawi in Zomba. He has had numerous short stories in Chichewa published in the newspapers Weekend Nation and Malawi News. He has also written poems, including Mubwere ku Mudzi and Mseko ('Laughter').

Toshiko Koshijima is a Japanese singer. Along with composer, record producer and DJ Yasutaka Nakata, she is the lead vocalist of the electronica band Capsule, which she formed in 1997 with Nakata when they were both 17. Their formal debut came in 2001 with the release of the single "Sakura". Two more singles and their debut album, High Collar Girl, followed the same year.

Toshio Fujiwara is a Japanese former kickboxer. Out of 141 professional fights before retiring at age 35, Fujiwara won 126, with a remarkable 99 by knockout; most notably, he was the first non-Thai to win a national Muay Thai title belt in Bangkok, a fact that many older Thais still remember and respect about him. Fujiwara became the first ever non-Thai stadium champion in 1978 when he won the lightweight title at Rajadamnern Stadium.

Park Cho-rong, better known mononymously as Chorong, is a South Korean singer, songwriter and actress. She is best known as the leader of the South Korean girl group Apink.

Booker Pittman or Pitman was the son of Portia Pittman and a grandson of Booker T. Washington. He became an accomplished jazz clarinetist and played with greats like Louis Armstrong and Count Basie in the US and Europe in the 1920s and 1930s. He is also an alto and soprano saxophonist. His stepdaughter Eliana Pittman is a Brazilian jazz singer and actress.

Richard Winyu Tsien, is a Chinese-born American electrical engineer and neurobiologist. He is the Druckenmiller Professor of Neuroscience, Chair of the Department of Physiology and Neuroscience, and Director of the NYU Neuroscience Institute at New York University Medical Center, and also an emeritus faculty member of Stanford University School of Medicine.
