He has done some voice directing in such anime as Basilisk: The Kouga Ninja Scrolls Ryota Miyagi in Slam Dunk and JoJo's Bizarre Adventure. His real name is Tsubasa Shioya. His older brother is voice actor Kōzō Shioya.

Charest sits as an advisor to Canada's Ecofiscal Commission. Charest is currently a consultant for Huawei on the Meng Wanzhou case and for its 5G network plans in Canada.
