Henning Brandis was a German physician and microbiologist. He was Professor of Medical Microbiology and Immunology and Director of the Institute for Medical Microbiology and Immunology at the University of Bonn from 1967 until his 1984 retirement. He was editor-in-chief of the journal Zeitschrift für Immunitätsforschung. He was a member of the Academy of Sciences Leopoldina and received the Officer's Cross of the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany in 1976 for services to medical microbiology.

Konstantin Karlovich Albrecht was a cellist in the Moscow Bolshoi Theater orchestra, a teacher and administrator. Interested in choral music, he founded the Moscow Choral Society in 1878. He also helped to found the Russian Musical Society and the Moscow Conservatory.

Wilhelm Dörpfeld was a German architect and archaeologist, a pioneer of stratigraphic excavation and precise graphical documentation of archaeological projects. He is famous for his work on Bronze Age sites around the Mediterranean, such as Tiryns and Hisarlik, where he continued Heinrich Schliemann's excavations. Like Schliemann, Dörpfeld was an advocate of the historical reality of places mentioned in the works of Homer. While the details of his claims regarding locations mentioned in Homer's writings are not considered accurate by later archaeologists, his fundamental idea that they correspond to real places is accepted. Thus, his work greatly contributed to not only scientific techniques and study of these historically significant sites but also a renewed public interest in the culture and the mythology of Ancient Greece.

Adolf Rott was a German theatre director, theatre artistic director, and theatre manager. From 1954 to 1959, he was director of the Vienna Burgtheater.
