Born in San Francisco, California, he played college basketball at Pepperdine University, and was selected by the Houston Rockets with the 23rd overall pick of the 2001 NBA draft, but was traded, along with fellow Rockets draft picks Richard Jefferson and Jason Collins to the New Jersey Nets in exchange for the draft rights to New Jersey's Eddie Griffin.

Johannes Peter "Honus" Wagner, sometimes referred to as "Hans" Wagner, was an American baseball shortstop who played 21 seasons in Major League Baseball from 1897 to 1917, almost entirely for the Pittsburgh Pirates. Wagner won his eighth batting title in 1911, a National League record that remains unbroken to this day, and matched only once, in 1997, by Tony Gwynn. He also led the league in slugging six times and stolen bases five times. Wagner was nicknamed "The Flying Dutchman" due to his superb speed and German heritage. This nickname was a nod to the popular folk-tale made into a famous opera by another Wagner.

Francis also played for the Orlando Magic and New York Knicks, finishing his career with the Beijing Ducks of the Chinese Basketball Association. He was known for his crossover dribble, driving ability, and flashy dunks. He was given the nickname Stevie Franchise.

She was a staff writer for the television series This Is Us and also wrote for The Breaks, Hood Adjacent with James Davis, and Kidding. Waters was a journalist in the hip hop industry, writing a digital column for Vibe Vixen in the early 2010s and starring in the reality show The Gossip Game. She advocated for the importance of black writers in the film and television industry. Waters was born in Evanston, Illinois, and raised by her grandmother in a senior home. After graduating from Evanston Township High School, she attended Columbia College Chicago. She died of suicide by hanging on June 9, 2020, in Los Angeles County, California.
