Heinz Gerischer was a German scientist. He was the thesis advisor of future Nobel laureate Gerhard Ertl.

Wolfgang Rauls is a German politician of the Free Democratic Party (FDP). He was the last leader of the National Democratic Party during the Wende, before its eventual merger into the Free Democratic Party. After German reunification, he entered state politics in Saxony-Anhalt, serving as Minister for the Environment and, eventually, Deputy Minister-President in the CDU cabinets from 1990 to 1994.

Richard Paulick was a German architect with political connections. In professional terms his most productive period, frequently overlooked in western sources, may have been the time he spent in  Shanghai between 1933 and 1949. He has been described as the "father of East-German Plattenbau" (construction). In the eyes of admirers he was nevertheless able to bring an element of "humanisation" to the economics-driven low-cost high-density post-war reconstruction of East Germany.
