Dieter Bock was a German lawyer and tax consultant turned businessman. At the time of his death he was one of the wealthiest Germans, with a fortune of £500 million. He choked to death in the Atlantic Kempinski luxury hotel in Hamburg at the age of 71.

Dieter Timpe was a German historian best known for his theories on Arminius and the Battle of the Teutoburg Forest.

Georg Stumme was a general in the Wehrmacht of Nazi Germany during the Second World War who briefly commanded the Axis forces at the beginning of the Second Battle of El Alamein, and died during the Defence of Outpost Snipe. He had taken part in the Battle of France, the invasion of Yugoslavia and Operation Barbarossa, the invasion of the Soviet Union. He was a recipient of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross, the highest award in the military and paramilitary forces of Nazi Germany during the war.

Ronald M. Schernikau was a German writer. Schernikau was born in Magdeburg and died in Berlin. Schernikau largely wrote about LGBT issues in Germany, and was one of the few to defect from West Germany to East Germany.

Martin Heinrich Klaproth was a German chemist. He trained and worked for much of his life as an apothecary, moving in later life to the university. His shop became the second-largest apothecary in Berlin, and the most productive artisanal chemical research center in Europe.

Otto Christian Archibald, Prince of Bismarck, was a German politician and diplomat, and the Prince of Bismarck from 1904 to his death. He was a prominent member of the Nazi party (1933–1945).

Robert Adolf Stemmle was a German screenwriter and film director. He wrote for 86 films between 1932 and 1967. He also directed 46 films between 1934 and 1970. His 1959 film Die unvollkommene Ehe was entered into the 1st Moscow International Film Festival. He was born in Magdeburg, Germany and died in Baden-Baden, Germany.

Lucas Cranach the Younger was a German Renaissance painter and portraitist, the son of Lucas Cranach the Elder.
