Otto Moritz Walter Model was a German field marshal during World War II. Although he was a hard-driving, aggressive panzer commander early in the war, Model became best known as a practitioner of defensive warfare. His relative success as commander of the Ninth Army in the retreats of 1941–1942 determined his future career path. He has been called the Third Reich's best defensive tactical commander.

Dorothea Buck was a German writer and sculptor, diagnosed with schizophrenia at the age of 19. She was a victim of the Nazi dictatorship which forced her to be sterilized; she subsequently became an advocate for psychiatric reform.

Winfried Bölke was a German cyclist. In 1963 he won the national championships and a bronze medal at the world championships in the road race for amateurs. Next year he turned professional and won the Tour de Picardie and one stage at the Volta a Catalunya. In 1965–1967 he won all national road race championships, as well as one madison title in 1967. In the following three years he won the road races of Maaslandse Pijl (1968), Saint-Raphael (1969), Kaistenberg (1970) and Porz (1970). He continued competing professionally until 1973.

Pauline Christine Wilhelmine of Anhalt-Bernburg was a princess consort of Lippe, married in 1796 to Leopold I, Prince of Lippe. She served as the regent of Lippe during the minority of her son from 1802 to 1820. She is regarded as one of the most important rulers of Lippe. On 1 January 1809, she abolished serfdom by princely decree. She managed to keep the principality independent during the Napoleonic Wars. She wrote a constitution, in which the power of the estates was reduced. In the collective historical consciousness of the Lippe population, however, she is best remembered for her social goals. Influenced by French reformist writings, she founded the first day care center in Germany, a labor school for neglected children, a voluntary work camp for adult charity recipients and a health care institution with first aid center.

Reinhard Lakomy was a German-language composer, pianist, singer-songwriter and arranger. His musical styles ranged from pop, jazz, electronic music to radio plays and musicals for children. In the German Democratic Republic, Lakomy was one of the artists with the most official releases next to the Puhdys. His most famous works include the audio musical for children "Der Traumzauberbaum", which he co-produced with his wife, Monika Ehrhardt.

Clemens Meyer is a German writer. He is the author of Als wir träumten, Die Nacht, die Lichter, Gewalten, Im Stein, and Die stillen Trabanten. Of Meyer's works, All the Lights, Bricks and Mortar, and Dark Satellites have been translated into English.

Gerhard Erber was a German classical pianist and academic teacher. He played as a member of the East German ensemble Gruppe Neue Musik Hanns Eisler, which focused on contemporary chamber music. He was a professor of piano at the University of Music and Theatre Leipzig, and organised a Bach competition in Köthen.

Princess Henriette Amalie of Anhalt-Dessau was the fifth and youngest daughter of Leopold I, Prince of Anhalt-Dessau, by his morganatic wife, Anna Louise Föhse.

Carl Philipp Gottfried von Clausewitz was a Prussian general and military theorist who stressed the "moral" and political aspects of war. His most notable work, Vom Kriege, was unfinished at his death.
