Dacia Maraini is an Italian writer. Maraini's work focuses on women’s issues, and she has written numerous plays and novels. She has won awards for her work, including the Formentor Prize for L'età del malessere (1963); the Premio Fregene for Isolina (1985); the Premio Campiello and Book of the Year Award for La lunga vita di Marianna Ucrìa (1990); and the Premio Strega for Buio (1999). In 2013, Irish Braschi's biographical documentary I Was Born Travelling told the story of her life, focusing in particular on her imprisonment in a concentration camp in Japan during World War II and the journeys she made around the world with her partner Alberto Moravia and close friends Pier Paolo Pasolini and Maria Callas.

Zheng Zhihua is a Taiwanese singer. When he was two, he contracted polio and became permanently paralyzed from the waist down. He started his career in the late 1980s and enjoyed great success and popularity during the early 1990s in both Taiwan and mainland China. He announced his retirement in January 1999, but in 2005 he reemerged.

Alexia Runggaldier is an Italian former biathlete. She competed at the Biathlon World Championships 2012 and 2013. She represented Italy at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi and at the 2018 Winter Olympics in PyeongChang.

Lai Chi Wai is a rock climber, sport climber, and motivational speaker from Hong Kong. He is a four-time champion of the Asian Rock Climbing Championships and the world's first Chinese winner of the X-Game's extreme sports. In 2011, he got into a serious traffic accident that left him paraplegic. On December 9, 2016, upon the 5th anniversary of the car accident, Lai climbed up Lion Rock in a wheelchair, and became the first Chinese athlete to be nominated for the Laureus World's Best Sporting Moment of the month, which he lost to a viral video which showed a packed sports stadium of 70,000 people in Iowa turning and waving to children in an adjacent hospital. Netizens, touched by Lai's achievement, said he embodied the “spirit of Lion Rock”, which has come to symbolize Hong Kong's can-do spirit in the midst of adversities.

Mohamed Yunus al-Menfi is a Libyan diplomat and politician from Tobruk. On 5 February 2021, he was chosen as the Libyan president at the Libyan Political Dialogue Forum. Previously, he had served as the Libyan Ambassador to Greece.
