Jean François de Troy was a French Rococo easel and fresco painter, draughtsman and tapestry designer. One of France's leading history painters in his time, he was equally successful with his decorative paintings, genre scenes and portraits. He was the inventor of the tableaux de modes, which attempted to provide a spirited portrayal of contemporary fashions, pastimes and manners.

Chantal Leblanc was a French politician and communist. A member of the French Communist Party, she was the first female MP to wear trousers in the National Assembly chambers.

Léon Aimé Taverde, F.M.C, was a French Prelate of the Roman Catholic Church. Taverde was born in Avanne, France and ordained a priest on 25 September 1955. He was appointed bishop to the Diocese of Langres on 14 October 1981 and ordained bishop on 29 November 1981. He retired on 16 December 1999 as bishop of the Langres Diocese.

Augustin François César Prouvençal de Saint-Hilaire, French botanist and traveler, was born at Orléans, France, on 4 October 1779. A keen observer, he is credited with important discoveries in botany, notably the direction of the radicle in the embryo sac and the double point of attachment of certain ovules. He also described two families, the Paronychiae and the Tamariscinae, as well as many genera and species.

Nicolas Lancret was a French painter. Born in Paris, he was a brilliant depicter of light comedy which reflected the tastes and manners of French society during the regency of the Duke of Orleans and, later, early reign of King Louis XV.

Jacques Georges was the president of the French Football Federation (FFF) from 1968 until 1972 and the 4th president of UEFA (1983–1990).
