Kaoru Kurimoto was the pen name of Sumiyo Imaoka , a Japanese novelist. Imaoka also used the pen name Azusa Nakajima to write criticism and music. She was known for her record-breaking 130-volume Guin Saga series, which has been translated into English, German, French, Italian and Russian. Her style has been described as being part of the New Wave science fiction movement. Outside of her literary endeavors, she was a playwright, composer, and pianist who performed with her own jazz ensemble, the Azusa Nakajima Trio.

Sheryl Gething, better known by her stage name Shae is an Indonesian singer and actress. She was born to an Australian father and Indonesian mother from Riau.

Johannes Cornelius Bluming was a Dutch martial artist, instructor and actor. Known as a pioneer in variety of martial arts, Bluming held 10th dan in Judo, 10th dan in Karate and 10th dan in Hapkido. He was also the coach of two-time Olympic champion Willem Ruska.

Héctor R. Luna is a Dominican Republic former professional baseball infielder. He last played for the Hiroshima Carp in Nippon Professional Baseball. He is primarily an infielder, but has played every position at the major league level except pitcher and catcher.

Valentin Vasiliyevich Bondarenko was a Soviet fighter pilot selected in 1960 for training as a cosmonaut. He died as the result of burns sustained in a fire during a 15-day low-pressure endurance experiment in Moscow. The government concealed the death, along with Bondarenko's membership in the cosmonaut corps, until 1980. A crater on the Moon's far side is named after him.

Christopher Lee Pettiet was an American television and film actor best known for his role as Jesse James in the Western TV series The Young Riders and as Zach Crandell in the cult comedy film Don't Tell Mom the Babysitter's Dead (1991).

Leoluca Bagarella is an Italian criminal and member of the Sicilian Mafia. He is from the town of Corleone. Following Salvatore Riina's arrest in early 1993, Bagarella had taken over as il capo dei capi of the Corleonesi, rivalling Riina's putative successor, Bernardo Provenzano. Bagarella was captured in 1995, having been a fugitive for four years, and sentenced to life imprisonment for Mafia association and multiple murders.
