List of Famous people born in Austria

Arnold Korff was an Austrian-born Hollywood actor and director. He appeared in a number of German and Austrian films before moving to the United States and resuming his career in America. He made his first appearance on the American stage in Denver in 1892.

Erwin Faber was a leading actor in Munich and later throughout Germany, beginning after World War I, and through the late-1970s, when he was still performing at the Residenz Theatre. Born in Innsbruck, Austria, Faber remained in Germany during the Third Reich, emerging afterwards as a prominent actor in the Federal Republic of Germany. He died in Munich in 1989, only two months after his last performance at the Residenztheater, at age 97.

Josephus Calasanz Fließer was an Austrian clergyman and bishop for the Roman Catholic Diocese of Linz. He was ordained in 1919. He was appointed bishop in 1946. He died in 1960.

Michael von Newlinsky was an Austrian film actor who appeared in numerous supporting roles during his career, in films such as Georg Wilhelm Pabst's Pandora's Box (1929).

Giuseppe Bonno was an Austrian composer of Italian origin.

Ernő Poeltenberg was a honvéd general in the Hungarian Army. He was executed for his part in the Hungarian Revolution of 1848, and is considered one of the 13 Martyrs of Arad.
