Following his debut, Basrur composed music for films such as Ekka Saka (2015), Just Maduveli (2015), Karvva (2016) and K.G.F: Chapter 1 (2018).

Kurien won the women's doubles Grand Prix title at 2008 Bulgaria Open. She was formerly married to Nikhil Kanetkar, another National badminton champion from Maharashtra, although the two are now divorced.
