He represented his native country at the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles, California, where he won the silver medal in the men's team time trial, alongside Alfred Achermann, Richard Trinkler and Benno Wiss.

Thandi Modise is a South African politician, and former Anti-Apartheid guerilla. She is currently serving as Speaker of the National Assembly of South Africa. She served as Chairperson of the National Council of Provinces from 2014 to 2019.

Gilbert Armea Garcera is the Roman Catholic Archbishop of the Archdiocese of Lipa in the Philippines. He was appointed to lead the Archdiocese by Pope Francis, succeeding Archbishop Ramon Arguelles, who earlier filed his resignation prior to his mandatory retirement age. His previous assignment was the bishop of the Diocese of Daet in Camarines Norte.
