Among his best known works are Empress Eugénie Surrounded by her Ladies in Waiting (1855) and the portraits he made of Empress Elisabeth of Austria (1865).

Samad Vurgun was an Azerbaijani and Soviet poet, dramatist, public figure, first People's Artist of the Azerbaijan SSR (1943), academician of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (1945), laureate of two USSR State Prizes of second degree, and member of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union from 1940.

Jacqueline MacInnes Wood is a Canadian actress, disc jockey, singer and television host. She is best known for starring as Olivia Castle in the horror film Final Destination 5 (2011) and as the fashion executive and heiress Steffy Forrester in the American CBS soap opera The Bold and the Beautiful (2008–present), the latter earning her four Daytime Emmy Award nominations, winning in the category of Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series in 2019.

Yousef Waly was an Egyptian politician who served as Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation from 1982 to 2004. Wali was not married but he's a godfather and uncle to three siblings, Amin Waly, Hoda Waly and Sherif Waly the youngest, who became later a Senator and a leader in the National Democratic Party (NDP).
