Artur Jorge Braga Melo Teixeira, commonly known as Artur Jorge, is a Portuguese football manager and former player, who played as a forward.

Alfred Hamilton Barr Jr. was an American art historian and the first director of the Museum of Modern Art in New York City. From that position, he was one of the most influential forces in the development of popular attitudes toward modern art; for example, his arranging of the blockbuster Van Gogh exhibition of 1935, in the words of author Bernice Kert, was "a precursor to the hold Van Gogh has to this day on the contemporary imagination."

Sir Alan Hilary Moore, 2nd Baronet (1882–1959) served in the RNVR for 4 years as a midshipman and a sub-lieutenant, then as a temporary surgeon in the Royal Navy during the First World War. From his observations of sailing vessels encountered between Orkney and Aden during this time he wrote Last Days of Mast & Sail which describes the many types of sailing vessels both large and small which were soon to be largely displaced by motorised vessels. This includes some 200 illustrations of sailing ships and their rigging by R. Morton Nance.

Floride Bonneau Calhoun was the wife of prominent U.S. politician John C. Calhoun. She is best known for her leading role in the Petticoat affair, which occurred during her husband's service as vice president of the United States. In that role, Mrs. Calhoun led the wives of other Cabinet members in ostracizing Peggy Eaton, the wife of Secretary of War John Eaton, whom they considered a woman of low morals. The affair helped damage relations between John C. Calhoun and President Andrew Jackson, and effectively ended any legitimate chance of him becoming president of the United States.

Erik Theodor Werenskiold was a Norwegian painter and illustrator. He is especially known for his drawings for the Asbjørnsen and Moe collection of Norske Folkeeventyr, and his illustrations for the Norwegian edition of the Snorri Sturlason Heimskringla.

Paul-Yves Nizan was a French philosopher and writer.

Ulrik Anton Motzfeldt was a Norwegian jurist and politician. He served five terms in the Norwegian Parliament, including two years as President. He was also a professor at the University of Christiania and an Assessor of the Supreme Court.
