Murad Taqqu
Murad Taqqu is an Iraqi probabilist and statistician specializing in time series and stochastic processes. His research areas have included long-range dependence, self-similar processes, and heavy tails. He is a Professor of Mathematics at Boston University and received his Ph.D. from Columbia University. He has published over 250 papers, many of which are considered seminal work. He has co-authored or co-edited 9 books.

Jørgen Hansen
Jørgen Emil Hansen is a Danish cyclist who competed in the Summer Olympics three times. He took part in the men's 100 km team time trial in the 1968, 1972, and 1976 Olympic Games, and in the men's individual road race in 1968 and 1976. The 1976 100 km time trial team, which also included Verner Blaudzun, Gert Frank and Jørn Lund, won a bronze medal for Denmark. It finished ahead of West Germany and Czechoslovakia for third place, behind the Soviet Union and Poland.

She was born in Novi Sad, Yugoslavia and in the last 20 years she has lived and worked alternately in Novi Sad, Serbia, in Budapest, Hungary and on the island of Hvar, Croatia. Parallel to her written poems she also creates sound poems and visual poems, performance art, writes and performs experimental music and audio plays. She is also a performer and an experimental artist. She explores language through visual and vocal expressions, as well as movement and gestures. Her work includes collages, photography, records, performances and happenings in both urban and natural environments.

Douglas Joel Futuyma is an American evolutionary biologist. He is a Distinguished Professor in the Department of Ecology and Evolution at Stony Brook University in Stony Brook, New York and a Research Associate on staff at the American Museum of Natural History in New York City. His research focuses on speciation and population biology. Futuyma is the author of a widely used undergraduate textbook on evolution and is also known for his work in public outreach, particularly in advocating against creationism.

León Roldós Aguilera is an Ecuadorian politician. He was born in Guayaquil in 1942. His mother died during his birth. He studied law at the state University of Guayaquil. He became secretary of the Municipality of Guayaquil under Mayor Assad Bucaram, of the populist party Concentración de Fuerzas Populares. He also had a private practice of law and consultancy mostly to the banking sector. He later became a professor in the University of Guayaquil and a dean of the law school of the Universidad Laica Vicente Rocafuerte.
