She was chosen by the district of Ingolstadt, Eichstätt and Neuburg-Schrobenhausen to be its direct SPD candidate for the Bundestag in the last federal election. In July 2009 she was elected as a member of the "Executive Committee" of the Social Democratic Party in Bavaria.
