From 2014 until 2016, he served as Secretary of State for Relations with Parliament in the government of Prime Minister Manuel Valls.

María Luisa Carcedo Roces is a Spanish doctor, politician and former senator who belongs to the Spanish Socialist Workers' Party (PSOE). From 2018 to 2020, she served as minister of Health, Consumer Affairs and Social Welfare after the resignation of Carmen Montón. From 1977 to 1987, he co-drove to German rally driver Walter Röhrl, winning the World Rally Championship drivers' title in 1980 and 1982. The pair also won the Monte Carlo Rally four times. After Röhrl retired from the WRC, Geistdörfer co-drove to Hannu Mikkola in eight events in 1988 and 1989.
