Mirel Matei Rădoi is a Romanian former footballer and the current head coach of the Romania national team. He played as a defensive midfielder or a central defender. Capped 67 times by the national team, he represented Romania at the UEFA Euro 2008.

Maurizio D'Angelo is an Italian football manager and former player, who played as a centre back, best known for his career as Chievo captain during the 1990s. He most recently served as manager of F.C. Südtirol in the Italian Lega Pro Seconda Divisione.

Themistoklis "Demis" Nikolaidis is a Greek former professional footballer who played as a striker. He was the forty second president of AEK Athens FC, and is considered one of the finest footballers Greece has ever produced. In his early childhood and teenage years he lived in the city of Alexandroupoli, in the north-east part of Greece. In a sterling career with Ethnikos Alexandroupolis, Apollon Smyrnis, AEK Athens FC and Atlético Madrid, Nikolaidis earned his reputation as a "born goalscorer", scoring prolifically for club and country. His power, pace and skill on the ball have been widely praised but it was his work-ethic and enthusiasm, perhaps, that propelled him to his exalted status among Greek footballers.

Àlex Corretja i Verdegay is a former professional tennis player from Spain. During his career, he was twice a Grand Slam runner-up at the French Open and won the ATP Tour World Championships in 1998, reaching a career-high singles ranking of world No. 2 in 1999. He also played a key role in helping Spain win its first-ever Davis Cup title in 2000.

Mary Caroline Pierce is a retired tennis professional who represented France internationally in team competitions and the Olympics. She was born in Canada to an American father and a French mother, and holds citizenship of all three countries.

Tarik Benhabiles is a former Algerian-French tennis player. He achieved his highest ATP-ranking on 8 June 1987, when the right-hander was listed as the number 22 player in the world.

Steven Delano Smith is an American former professional basketball player and former basketball analyst for Turner Sports. After a collegiate career with Michigan State, he played with several teams in his 14-season National Basketball Association career, including the Miami Heat, the Portland Trail Blazers and the San Antonio Spurs, but is perhaps best known for his five-year stint with the Atlanta Hawks which included an All-Star Game appearance in 1998. He won a championship with the Spurs in 2003. Smith was widely regarded as an excellent three-point shooter, and is one of three players to make seven 3-pointers in a quarter.

Maurizio Pellegrino is a retired Italian professional football player and coach. He is currently in charge as youth system chief of Serie B club Catania.
