The show was criticized for allowing Barba to continue to compete when producers had disqualified second season contestant Frenchie Davis under similar circumstances.

A recognized expert in the field of attribution research, she examines the extent to which man-made developments are likely to be responsible for events such as the extreme summer of 2019, and their repercussions on global warming. As a result of these interests, she has become a member of the international project World Weather Attribution.

Cornelia Maria Funke is a German author of children's fiction. Born in Dorsten, North Rhine-Westphalia, she began her career as a social worker before becoming a book illustrator. She began writing novels in the late 1980s and focused primarily on fantasy-oriented stories that depict the lives of children faced with adversity. Funke has since become Germany's "best-selling author for children." Her work has been translated into several languages and, as of 2012, Funke has sold over 20 million copies of her books worldwide.

Denis Sassou-Nguesso
Denis Sassou Nguesso is a Congolese politician who has been President of the Republic of the Congo since 1997. He was previously president from 1979 to 1992. During his first period as president, he headed the single-party régime of the Congolese Party of Labour (PCT) for 12 years. Under pressure from international sources, he introduced multiparty politics in 1990 and was then stripped of executive powers by the 1991 National Conference, remaining in office as a ceremonial head of state. He stood as a candidate in the 1992 presidential election but was defeated, placing third.
