List of Famous people named Shang

Shang Chunsong is a senior elite Chinese artistic gymnast. She represented China at the 2013, 2014, and 2015 World Championships and was a member of the Chinese silver-medal-winning teams at the latter two events. Shang was the captain of the bronze-medal-winning team at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, where she placed 4th in the individual all-around competition. Domestically, she is the 2015 and 2016 Chinese national all-around champion.

Shang Yang, also known as Wei Yang and originally surnamed Gongsun, was an ancient Chinese philosopher, politician and a prominent legalist scholar. Born in the Zhou vassal state of Wey during the Warring States period, he was a statesman, chancellor and reformer serving the State of Qin, where his policies laid the administrative, political and economic foundations that strengthened the Qin state and would eventually enable Qin to conquer the other six rival states, unifying China into a centralized rule for the first time in history under the Qin dynasty. Scholars consider it likely that both him and his followers contributed to the Book of Lord Shang, a foundational philosophical work for the school of Chinese legalism.

Shang Wenjie, also known as Laure Shang, is the champion of the third season of the Chinese singing contest Super Girl. In 2011, she also won the award for Best Female Singer at the annual MusicRadio China TOP Charts Awards.

Shang Zhixin was a major figure in the early Qing Dynasty, known for his role in the Revolt of the Three Feudatories. He was Prince of Pingnan, inheriting his position from his father, the surrendered Ming Dynasty general Shang Kexi.

Shang Fulin is a politician of the People's Republic of China. He served as president of the China Securities Regulatory Commission until October, 2011, when he was appointed to lead the China Banking Regulatory Commission.

Shang Kexi was a Chinese general of the Ming and Qing Dynasties. His family had migrated to Liaodong in 1576 and his father, Shang Xueli, served in the army guarding the northeast frontier. As his father did, Shang Kexi joined the army and guarded the frontier against the attack of the Jurchens. With the decay and fall of the Ming Emperors, Shang Kexi sought better fortune in the service of the Qing Dynasty and he was one of the most powerful generals that surrendered to the Qing. He fought for the Qing in Southern China and established his power in Guangdong where he ruled the territory as his own domain amassing wealth and possessing a trained army.
