Nathaniel Philbrick is an American author of history, winner of the National Book Award, and finalist for the Pulitzer Prize. His maritime history, In the Heart of the Sea: The Tragedy of the Whaleship Essex, which tells the true story that inspired Melville's Moby-Dick, won the 2000 National Book Award for Nonfiction and was adapted as a film in 2015.

Nathaniel Joseph Fisch is an American plasma physicist known for pioneering the excitation of electrical currents in plasmas using electromagnetic waves, which was then used in tokamak experiments. This contributed to an increased understanding of plasma wave-particle interactions in the field for which he was awarded the James Clerk Maxwell Prize for Plasma Physics in 2005 and the Hannes Alfvén Prize in 2015.

Nathaniel Méchaly is a French musician and film composer. His composing credits include Avanim (2004), Revolver (2005), Colombiana (2011), The Grandmaster (2013), and the Taken trilogy (2008–2014).
