Maurice Diot was a French professional road bicycle racer. In 1951, he won the Paris–Brest–Paris race of 1200 km in a record time that has not been broken since. He rode in the 1947, 1948, and 1949 Tour de France. He also finished in second place in the 1950 Paris–Roubaix.

Maurice Emmanuel was a French composer of classical music born in Bar-sur-Aube, a small town in the Champagne-Ardenne region of northeastern France. It was there where he first heard his grandfather's printing press which according to his granddaughter, Anne Eichner-Emmanuel, first gave him the feeling of rhythm.

Maurice De Muer was a French cyclist who rode as a professional between 1943 and 1951 and later became a cycling team manager.

Maurice de Vlaminck was a French painter. Along with André Derain and Henri Matisse he is considered one of the principal figures in the Fauve movement, a group of modern artists who from 1904 to 1908 were united in their use of intense colour. Vlaminck was one of the Fauves at the controversial Salon d'Automne exhibition of 1905.
