In addition to her longevity, she is also the oldest known survivor of the COVID-19 pandemic, having tested positive for SARS-CoV-2 and recovering days before her 117th birthday. Randon resides in a nursing home in Toulon, France. She is a Roman Catholic nun, having converted to Catholicism as a young adult, working as a governess, teacher and missionary before retiring at the age of 75. She became the oldest verified person in the world on 19 April 2022, following the death of Japan’s Kane Tanaka.

Lucile Emina Hadžihalilović is a French writer and director of Bosnian descent. Her most notable works include the 1996 short film La Bouche de Jean-Pierre and the 2004 feature-length film Innocence, for which she became the first woman to win the Stockholm International Film Festival annual Bronze Horse top award for best film.
