Lucile Randon, also known as Sister André, is a French supercentenarian, who at the age of 118 years, 74 days, is the world's oldest verified living person. In addition to her longevity, she is also the oldest known survivor of the COVID-19 pandemic, having tested positive for SARS-CoV-2 and recovering days before her 117th birthday. Randon resides in a nursing home in Toulon, France. She is a Roman Catholic nun, having converted to Catholicism as a young adult, working as a governess, teacher and missionary before retiring at the age of 75. She became the oldest verified person in the world on 19 April 2022, following the death of Japan’s Kane Tanaka.
