Grand Duke Nicholas Nikolaevich of Russia was the third son and sixth child of Tsar Nicholas I of Russia and Alexandra Feodorovna. He may also be referred to as Nicholas Nikolaevich the Elder to tell him apart from his son, Grand Duke Nicholas Nikolaevich of Russia (1856–1929). Trained for the military, as a Field Marshal he commanded the Russian army of the Danube in the Russo-Turkish War, 1877–1878.

Roland Povinelli was a French politician who served as a member of the Senate of France from 2008 to 2014, representing the Bouches-du-Rhône department. He served as mayor of Allauch, a town near Marseille, from 1975 until his death in 2020. He was a member of the Socialist Party.

Wang Xiji is a Chinese aerospace engineer. The chief designer of China's first sounding rocket (T-7), first space launch vehicle and first recoverable satellites, he was awarded the Two Bombs, One Satellite Meritorious Medal in 1999. He is an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the International Academy of Astronautics, and was inducted into the International Astronautical Federation Hall of Fame in 2016. Wang turned 100 in July 2021.

Pia Douwes is a Dutch actress in musical theatre in Europe. She is best known for having created the title role in the German-language musical Elisabeth.

Taras Mykolayovych Stepanenko is a Ukrainian footballer, who is currently playing for FC Shakhtar Donetsk. He started his career at Metalurh Zaporizhya, making his debut in 2007, before joining Shakhtar in 2010.

Mikhail Moiseyevich Botvinnik was a Soviet chess player, who was the sixth World Chess Champion. Besides playing top-class competitive chess, he worked as an electrical engineer and computer scientist, and he was also a pioneer of computer chess.

Jakov Fak is a biathlete born in Croatia and competing for Slovenia since 2010. As a member of the Croatian biathlon team, Fak won bronze medals at the 2009 World Championships and at the 2010 Winter Olympics where he was also the Croatian flag bearer at the opening ceremony. In 2010, Fak switched his citizenship and started competing for Slovenia. With the Slovenian team, Fak won four medals at the World Championships, including two gold, and a silver medal at the 2018 Winter Olympics. In addition, Fak has eight victories in the World Cup.

Ganyū Kenji is a former sumo wrestler from Himeji, Hyōgo, Japan. He made his professional debut in March 1986, and reached the top division in March 1996. His highest rank was maegashira 1. In May 1999 he continued fighting in the tournament despite having ligament damage in his ankle, in search of the eighth win that would give him a winning record. He was also restricted by persistent knee problems. He retired in May 2000 and became an elder in the Japan Sumo Association under the name Yamahibiki. He took over the running over the Kitanoumi stable in November 2015 after the death of its founder and head, former yokozuna Kitanoumi. The stable was renamed Yamahibiki stable. He was elected to the Sumo Association's board of directors in 2018.

Mauro Mendonça Filho is a Brazilian television director. He is the son of actors Rosamaria Murtinho and Mauro Mendonça.

Lars Anders Amble-Næss was a Swedish actor and director. Amble was the son of Leif Amble-Næss and Maritta Marke. After finishing theater school in Stockholm, which he attended from 1963 to 1965, he was hired by the Royal Dramatic Theater until 1969, after which he has played parts in various theater plays, musicals, TV shows and movies. From 1986 to 1994 he was artistic director for the Maxim theater in Stockholm.
