‘Ali Maḥmūd Ṭāhā (1901–1949) was an Egyptian romantic poet. He has been called several nicknames, such as: The Engineer and The Lost Sailor. The Egyptian literary scholar, 'Abd al-Majid 'Abidin, published an Arabic study discussing 'Ali Mahmud Taha "al-Munhandis" and Iliya Abu Madi in 1967, describing them both as reformist poets.

Mahmoud Mohammed Taha, also known as Ustaz Mahmoud Mohammed Taha, was a Sudanese religious thinker, leader, and trained engineer. He developed what he called the "Second Message of Islam", which postulated that the verses of the Qur'an revealed in Medina were appropriate in their time as the basis of Islamic law, (Sharia), but that the verses revealed in Mecca represented the ideal religion, would be revived when humanity had reached a stage of development capable of accepting them, ushering in a renewed Islam based on freedom and equality. He was executed for apostasy for his religious preaching at the age of 76 by the regime of Gaafar Nimeiry.

Amal Taha was an Iraqi film actress and comedienne. She died on 19 May 2016.

Ali Osman Mohammed Taha is a Sudanese politician who was First Vice President of Sudan from July 2011 to December 2013. Previously he was Minister of Foreign Affairs from 1993 to 1995, First Vice President from 1995 to January 2005, and Second Vice President from August 2005 to July 2011. He is a member of the National Congress Party.

Sahar Taha was an Iraqi musician and journalist living in Lebanon. She co-hosted the Lebanese programme Banat Hawa on LBC. She was known for playing the oud in both eastern and western music.

Assaad Taha is an international award-winning Egyptian journalist and documentary filmmaker. He began his career in print journalism, soon after moving over to radio and television. Reporting became the main medium in which he chose to cover areas of conflict, before specialising in documentary filmmaking.

Rihab Rashid Taha al-Azawi is an Iraqi microbiologist, dubbed Dr Germ by United Nations weapons inspectors, who worked in Saddam Hussein's biological weapons program. A 1999 report commissioned by the United States Joint Chiefs of Staff and the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) named her as one of the world's most dangerous women. Dr Taha admitted producing germ warfare agents but said they had been destroyed.
