Sir Alan Moore, 2nd Baronet
Sir Alan Hilary Moore, 2nd Baronet (1882–1959) served in the RNVR for 4 years as a midshipman and a sub-lieutenant, then as a temporary surgeon in the Royal Navy during the First World War. From his observations of sailing vessels encountered between Orkney and Aden during this time he wrote Last Days of Mast & Sail which describes the many types of sailing vessels both large and small which were soon to be largely displaced by motorised vessels. This includes some 200 illustrations of sailing ships and their rigging by R. Morton Nance.

Sir John Buchanan-Riddell, 11th Baronet
Sir John Walter Buchanan-Riddell, 11th Baronet was a British barrister and baronet. He was educated at Eton College and Christ Church, Oxford before being called to the bar by Inner Temple in 1874. He succeeded his uncle as 11th Baronet in the line of Riddell Baronets in 1892. In 1897, he served as High Sheriff of Northumberland. He was a member of the Council of Keble College, Oxford, from 1899 until his death. He died on 31 October 1924, succeeded by his son, Sir Walter Robert Buchanan-Riddell, 12th Baronet, who was Principal of Hertford College, Oxford.

Sir William Wyndham, 3rd Baronet, of Orchard Wyndham in Somerset, was an English Tory politician who sat in the House of Commons from 1710 to 1740. He served as Secretary at War in 1712 and Chancellor of the Exchequer in 1713 during the reign of the last Stuart monarch, Queen Anne (1702–1714). He was a Jacobite leader firmly opposed to the Hanoverian succession and was leader of the Tory opposition in the House of Commons during the reign of King George I (1714–1727) and during the early years of King George II (1727–1760).
