Vesna Vulović
Vesna Vulović was a Serbian flight attendant who holds the Guinness world record for surviving the highest fall without a parachute: 10,160 m. She was the sole survivor after a briefcase bomb exploded in the baggage compartment of JAT Flight 367 on 26 January 1972, causing it to crash near Srbská Kamenice, Czechoslovakia. The Yugoslav authorities suspected that Croatian nationalists were to blame, but no one was ever arrested.

Fata Orlović is a Bosnian woman who was in a legal battle with authorities of the Republic of Srpska since she moved back to her home in the Bosnian village of Konjević Polje near Bratunac five years after the end of the Bosnian War in 2000 until 2021. In 2000, Orlović, who had been living as a refugee and war widow ever since the end of the war, returned to her home in Konjević Polje to find that a Serbian Orthodox church had been built on the piece of her property. She was in the legal struggle to claim the right to the property for over 20 years. The church of "Beheading of St.John the Baptist" was built in 1998, and the altar part of the temple was on the private property of the Orlovic family. Orlovic family received every monetary offer to pay for that part of the land and solve the issue in peaceful terms. The church itself was dedicated to local Serbs who were tortured and killed 100 years ago in the tower that existed on the very same ground where the church was raised in 1998. On Saturday June 5 2021, the church was demolished.
