John Torrence Tate Jr. was an American mathematician, distinguished for many fundamental contributions in algebraic number theory, arithmetic geometry and related areas in algebraic geometry. He was awarded the Abel Prize in 2010.

Dina was a Portuguese singer, best known for her participation in the Eurovision Song Contest 1992 in Malmö.

George Lee Kelling was an American criminologist, a professor in the School of Criminal Justice at Rutgers University–Newark, a senior fellow at the Manhattan Institute for Policy Research, and a fellow at the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University. He previously taught at Northeastern University.

Jörg Streli was an Austrian architect and academic teacher at the Innsbruck University. With two colleagues, as the firm Heinz & Mathoi & Streli, he built private homes in the alpine landscape of Tyrol, schools, offices and public buildings, among others. He was also president of the architecture section of the Ingenieur- und Architektenkammer für Tirol und Vorarlberg.

Paul Augustus Findley was an American writer and politician. He served as United States Representative from Illinois, representing its 20th District. A Republican, he was first elected in 1960. A moderate Republican for most of his long political career, Findley was a supporter of civil rights and an early opponent of the U.S. war in Vietnam. He co-authored the War Powers Act in 1973, which is supposed to limit the ability of the president to go to war without Congressional authorization. Findley lost his seat in 1982 to current United States Senator Dick Durbin. He was a cofounder of the Council for the National Interest, a Washington, D.C. advocacy group and was a vocal critic of American policy towards Israel. He has also been praised for his support for the Palestinians and his anti-war activism.

Gregg Rudloff was an American re-recording mixer. He won three Academy Awards for Best Sound and was nominated for four more in the same category. He worked on 150 films from 1983 onwards. His father, Tex Rudloff, was a sound engineer who was nominated for an Academy Award in 1978. On January 6, 2019, Rudloff died at the age of 63 from a reported suicide.

Ren Xuefeng was a Chinese politician and business executive. Ren was an early leader of the Binhai New Area in Tianjin and served as the city's vice-mayor for eight years. He was transferred to Guangdong province in 2014, where he served as Communist Party Secretary of Guangzhou and Deputy Party Secretary of Guangdong. He was appointed Deputy Party Secretary of Chongqing in October 2018, but died in office a year later at age 54.

Norma Enriqueta Basilio Sotelo, also known as Queta Basilio, was a Mexican track and field athlete. She was born in Mexicali, capital of Baja California. She came from an athletic family; her father was a cotton farmer. Her Polish coach, Vladimir Puzio, moved her from high jumping to hurdling. She made history by becoming the first woman to light the Olympic Cauldron. She was the last torch-bearer of the 19th Summer Olympics in Mexico City on 12 October 1968.
