Rapee Sagarik was a Thai horticulturist, botanist and orchid expert. He was a professor at Kasetsart University and served as its president from 1972 to 1980. In addition to scientifically studying and cataloging orchids, for which he became known as the "father of Thai orchidology", he also worked in rice cultivar development and agriculture research, and served as Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives.

Stephen Roy Reinhardt was a United States Circuit Judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, with chambers in Los Angeles, California. He was the last federal appeals court judge in active service to have been appointed by President Jimmy Carter.

Jockie Soerjoprajogo was an Indonesian musician and songwriter. Jockie began his musical career while a junior high school student in Balikpapan, East Kalimantan. After working with bands in Jakarta and Surabaya, in 1973, he joined with Ahmad Albar, Donny Fattah and Ludwig Leeman to form God Bless; he would remain with this band intermittently until the 2000s. Jockie also worked with artists such as Chrisye and Iwan Fals, ultimately writing two songs—"Kehidupan" ("Life") and "Kesaksian" ("Witness")—that were listed by Rolling Stone Indonesia as among the best Indonesian songs of all time.

Fazal Hayat, more commonly known by his pseudonym Maulana Fazlullah, was an Islamist militant who was the leader of the Tehreek-e-Nafaz-e-Shariat-e-Mohammadi, and was the leader of the Tehreek-e-Taliban in Swat Valley. On 7 November 2013, he became the emir of the Tehrik-i-Taliban, and presided over the descent of the group into factions who are often at war with each other. Fazlullah was added to the U.S. State Department's Rewards for Justice wanted list on 7 March 2018. Fazlullah was killed in a U.S. drone strike in Afghanistan on 14 June 2018.

Eric Geboers was a Belgian professional motocross racer and racing driver. He competed in the Motocross World Championships from 1980 to 1990, winning five world championships in eleven years. Geboers is notable for being the first motocross competitor to win world championships in the 125cc, 250cc, and 500cc divisions. His 39 career Grand Prix victories ranks him fifth overall among motocross world championship competitors. In 2011, Geboers was named an FIM Legend for his motorcycling achievements. Geboers died in a drowning accident in 2018.

Mitsuo Matayoshi was a Japanese political activist, known for his perennial candidacy. He styled himself The only God Matayoshi Mitsuo Jesus Christ (唯一神又吉光雄・イエス・キリスト) or Jesus Matayoshi (又吉イエス). He was the leader of the World Economic Community Party (世界経済共同体党).

Nahum (Naum) Moiseyevich Korzhavin was a Russian poet of Jewish descent, a dissident and emigrant who moved to Boston, Massachusetts in 1973 and lived there 43 years. He spent the last two years of his life in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, to be near family.

Peter Bosse (1931–2018) was a German film actor. The son of actress Hilde Maroff, he appeared as a child actor in a number of Nazi era films during the 1930s. Later he often worked as a narrator in the post-war era.
