John Lawrence Nettleship was a British schoolteacher who taught chemistry at Wyedean School, Gloucestershire. His pupils there included Joanne Rowling, and he has been stated to be a major inspiration for the character of Severus Snape in Rowling's Harry Potter series of fantasy novels.

Henry Taub was an American businessman and philanthropist of Hungarian-Jewish descent who was a co-founder of ADP.

Sheikh Emad Effat was a senior Egyptian Sunni Islamic cleric at al-Azhar Mosque who was shot and killed during protest demonstrations 15 December 2011. Effat had participated in the Arab Spring demonstrations in Egypt since the January uprising.

Jun Henmi , real name Mayumi Shimizu , was a Japanese writer and poet born in Mizuhashi, Toyama Prefecture, Japan. She was known for her works of fiction and nonfiction about people affected by World War II. Henmi was the daughter of Gen'yoshi Kadokawa, founder of publisher Kadokawa Shoten and the older sister of Haruki Kadokawa.
