Ettore Cella was a Swiss actor and film director. He was naturalised as a Swiss citizen in 1930, as his parents had emigrated from Italy. He appeared in 25 films between 1941 and 2004. He starred in the 1976 film The Sudden Loneliness of Konrad Steiner, which was entered into the 26th Berlin International Film Festival.

Mitchell William Sharp was a Canadian politician and a Companion of the Order of Canada, most noted for his service as a Liberal Cabinet minister. He did, however, serve in both private and public sectors during his long career.

Ustad Vilayat Khan was an Indian classical sitar player. Along with Imdad Khan, Enayat Khan, and Imrat Khan, he is credited with the creation and development of gayaki ang on the sitar.

Sir Alwyn Williams was a Welsh geologist, who was Principal of the University of Glasgow from 1976 to 1988, and President of the Royal Society of Edinburgh from 1985 to 1988.

André Caquot was a French orientalist, specialized in semitic history and civilisations and professor of Hebrew and Aramaic language at the Collège de France. In 1986, André Caquot was elected president of the Académie des Inscriptions et Belles-Lettres. His work particularly focused on the Dead Sea Scrolls, the ugaritic and phoenician sculptures as well as on ancient Ethiopia.
