Wallace Diestelmeyer
Wallace William "Wally" Diestelmeyer was a Canadian figure skater. He competed in pair skating with Suzanne Morrow. The couple won the bronze medal at the 1948 Winter Olympics and the 1948 World Figure Skating Championships. They are credited as being the first pair to perform the death spiral one-handed, with the man holding the woman in position with one hand, at the 1948 Olympic Games.

Horst Willner
Horst Willner was a German U-Boat commander during the Second World War. Willner was a recipient of the Iron Cross 1st Class of Nazi Germany. He did not set out on patrols with his crews, but he did participate in the rescue of refugees from East Prussia ahead of the advancing Red Army. Post-war, Willner studied law and became President of the Bremen Chamber of Commerce.
